Reporter claims 24-year-old midfielder would rather sign for Liverpool than Chelsea
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would rather join Liverpool than Chelsea from Arsenal this summer, says Jim White

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would rather sign for Liverpool than Chelsea this summer, according to Jim White.
The 24-year-old’s future has been a constant source of speculation in recent weeks amid claims that both the Reds and the Blues want to lure him away from The Emirates.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has less than a year left on his current contract and widespread reports on Monday evening claimed that Chelsea were close to agreeing a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
However, Sky Sports News presenter and renowned transfer expert White claims that he has been told that Oxlade-Chamberlain would rather a transfer to Anfield than Chelsea.
White wrote on Twitter on Monday night: “Although @Arsenal and @ChelseaFC reportedly agree fee for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, source says player’s preference would be @LFC.”
It remains to be seen whether either club will be able to conclude a deal to sign the England midfielder before the transfer window drops shut on Thursday night.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has started all three of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, including the humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, when he was substituted in the second half.
Liverpool, who finished fourth in the Premier League last term, have brought in three new players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson.
