Expert sends message to Liverpool fans about Mohamed Salah at Chelsea
James Horncastle has reassured Liverpool fans that Mohamed Salah has improved since his spell at Chelsea

James Horncastle has played down the significance of Mohamed Salah’s first spell in the Premier League at Chelsea, reassuring Liverpool’s fans that the winger has proven himself to be a good player.
The Egypt international became the second signing of the summer transfer window on Thursday evening after Salah completed a £39m move to Anfield from AS Roma.
Salah has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Merseyside outfit following weeks of speculation linking the African forward with a move to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old scored 15 goals and made 11 assists in Serie A last season to finish as one of the Italian top flight’s most-creative players.
However, the African struggled during his stint at Chelsea in 2014 before he was loaned out to Fiorentina and then Roma, sealing a permanent switch to the Italian capital last summer.
Highlighting how former Chelsea stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Andre Schurrle have gone on to prove themselves as top players, Serie A expert Horncastle gave an encouraging analysis of Salah.
“Salah made his name doing it against English clubs,” Horncastle told Football Weekly.
“He scored two in three games against Chelsea, he scored against Spurs and he scored against Arsenal when he was at Chelsea.
“Not making it at Chelsea in that era, it hasn’t done De Bruyne, Lukaku, Schurrle and Cuadrado too bad. They’ve all gone on to prove themselves.”
