James Horncastle: What intrigues me about new Liverpool signing
James Horncastle is interested to see how Jurgen Klopp intends to use new Liverpool signing Mohamed Salah

James Horncastle admits he is intrigued to see how Jurgen Klopp intends to use his new summer signing Mohamed Salah.
The 25-year-old winger completed a record move to the Anfield outfit on Thursday evening after weeks of speculation linking the versatile player with a move to Liverpool.
Salah is thought to have put pen to paper on a long-term deal with Liverpool after securing a reported £39m switch to the Merseyside outfit from AS Roma.
The former Chelsea player will challenge Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana for a place in Klopp’s starting line-up.
Salah will provide the Liverpool boss with greater squad depth heading into the new campaign with the prospect of more fixtures following their Champions League qualification.
However, Serie A expert Horncastle doesn’t expect Salah to be merely a squad player given the size of the Egypt international’s transfer feee.
Speaking to Football Weekly podcast about Liverpool’s new signing and his prospects at Anfield, Horncastle said:
“The curious thing is where he will fit in at Liverpool.
“At Roma, he plays on the right side. Sadio Mane plays there for Liverpool. A lot of people looking forward to seeing them play together. It’s just a matter of where.
“He hasn’t been signed to add depth to the Liverpool side. You don’t sign players for 50m euros to be a squad player.”
