Liverpool urged to sign experienced 34-year-old defender
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann thinks Pepe would be a good addition to the Reds squad this summer

Dietmar Hamann believes Pepe would be a good addition to the Liverpool squad this summer.
The Portugal international is set to become a free agent in the summer ahead of his release from Real Madrid.
The 34-year-old has enjoyed great success at los Blancos despite his hot-headed reputation during a 10-year stay at The Bernabeu.
Pepe has won three La Liga titles, the Champions League three times and the Copa del Rey twice.
The veteran defender has also achieved international acclaim after Portugal won the European championship in France last summer.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to be in the market to sign a centre-half this summer but was left frustrated in their pursuit of Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Hamann has a potential solution to Klopp’s defensive headache in the summer transfer window.
Hamann wrote on Twitter: “I’d take Pepe to @LFC in a heartbeat”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence.
The Reds have only signed England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke in a free transfer from Premier League winners Chelsea this summer – so far.
