Ex-defender questions why top striker would consider Liverpool transfer
Craig Burley pours cold water on talk of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang swapping Dortmund for Liverpool this summer

Craig Burley has questioned why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would consider moving to Liverpool this summer.
The Borussia Dortmund striker is reported to be considering a move away from the Bundesliga outfit this summer following the departure of manager Thomas Tuchel.
Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a potential switch to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all touted as potential destinations for the striker.
The Gabon international has experience of working with Jurgen Klopp after the striker moved to Dortmund from Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne under his management.
Aubameyang has since blossomed into one of the top players in the Bundesliga, helping Dortmund to challenge for the title and the Champions League.
Liverpool secured a return to Europe’s premier club competition last term thanks to a fourth-placed finish.
Klopp will also be hoping to mount a sustained title challenge after their bid failed badly in the second half of last season.
Speaking to ESPN FC about the possibility of Liverpool signing Aubameyang, former Chelsea defender Burley said:
“Talking about luring him in, he is going from Borussia Dortmund who are challenging for Bundesliga and getting to the Champions League quarter-finalists, Liverpool won’t even get that far.
“They are a work in progress.”
Liverpool completed their second summer signing last week after Mohamed Salah secured a club-record move to Anfield from AS Roma.
