Liverpool transfers: Brendan Rodgers plays down Cristian Tello link
Liverpool transfers: Brendan Rodgers says that he expects no imminent arrivals when quizzed on Cristian Tello

Brendan Rodgers has remained tight-lipped on reports suggesting that Liverpool are on the brink of signing Cristian Tello on loan.
The Barcelona forward has been heavily linked with a temporary switch to the Reds as Rodgers looks to strengthen his stretched squad.
There’s nothing to add on any players coming in. There’s nothing imminent

Tello has found his first-team opportunities limited under Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino this term, making two assists in 10 La Liga appearances.
But Rodgers insisted that Liverpool have no imminent deals lined up but maintained the club is working hard on potential arrivals in January.
“Well I’m sure that there will be plenty more [transfer stories],” Rodgers told a pre-match media conference.
“There’s nothing to add on any players coming in. There’s nothing imminent.”
Liverpool slipped to fifth place in the Premier League table following a 2-1 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
However, Rodgers praised his squad’s performance despite back-to-back losses to Chelsea and Manchester City in the past week.
“I’ve learnt about the courage of the players that we have over the course of the last couple of games.
“They’ve reinforced why they’ve collected 23 more points this year than last year. Their bravery to get on the ball and take the game to the opponents.
“We still want to develop our squad. It was unfortunate that we got them back-to-back. We’ll keep that quality and the mentality until the end of the season.”
