Daniel Agger has admitted his frustration at his limited playing time for Liverpool this season.

The Danish defender struggled to hold down a regular starting spot Anfield and was left on the bench for the crunch clashes against Manchester City and Chelsea last month.

And the 29-year-old concedes that he does not know if he will be staying at Liverpool beyond the summer.

“It definitely wasn’t great. But I don’t make the decisions. I think it is because the manager doesn’t think that I’m good enough,” Agger is quoted as saying by Ekstra Bladet.

“I don’t know [if I’ll be at the club next season]. That’s up to the manager. I can’t go and put myself on the team sheet. I’m no one’s third choice.

“I’m not thinking about my future. Now my focus is on the next international games with Denmark and then I’m looking forward to a long five-week holiday. My body and my mind needs to relax.”

Agger started 16 Premier League games for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season as the Reds sealed a second-place finish.
