Liverpool transfers: Glen Johnson predicts contract talks this summer
Liverpool transfers: Glen Johnson says he is confident the Reds will offer him a new deal in the summer

Glen Johnson says he expects to sign a new Liverpool contract in the summer.
The England international’s current Reds deal is set to expire at the end of the 2014/15 season, with Liverpool yet to enter into talks with the defender over a new contract.

Johnson has made two assists in 24 Premier League appearances this season, with the right-back missing four weeks in late January due to a series of injury problems.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has stated his desire to tie Johnson down to a new deal in the summer, and the 29-year-old is relaxed about his future at the club.
“To have the manager’s belief and backing and for him to tell the public and the owners that he wants to keep me is fantastic,” Johnson told the Express.
“I’d love to stay. I have 14 or 16 months left and I have not heard anything different, so I have got to warrant that.
“The most important thing is concentrating on the league and getting to the summer. I am sure then the talks will begin.”
Johnson has scored seven Premier League goals in five seasons at Anfield.
