Luis Suarez would find it hard to reject the chance to join Real Madrid if the Spanish giants came calling this summer, Robbie Savage has claimed.

The Uruguay international finished the season with 31 goals in 33 Premier League games after being crowned the PFA player of the year a couple of weeks ago.

Suarez was heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal last summer before committing to the Reds and helping Brendan Rodgers’s side secure a second-place finish.

Liverpool will be back in the Champions League next season, but former Derby County midfielder Savage feels Suarez could still leave the 18-time English champions.

“If Real Madrid come in with a £70m bid this summer, it will be hard for Luis Suarez to turn it down. Could you imagine Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez in the same team?” Savage told BBC Sport.

“Liverpool know they have to buy a few players in preparation for next season’s Champions League. They have conceded far too many goals and that is why the lost the title.”
