Liverpool transfers: No Alberto Moreno deal, say Sevilla
Liverpool transfers: Sevilla president says the Reds are yet to finalise a deal for full-back Alberto Moreno
Liverpool are yet to finalise a deal to sign highly-rated left-back Alberto Moreno, according to the Sevilla president.
The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old Spain international, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, since the Premier League season finished.
If Liverpool are interested in the player and pay the right amount, he will be sold
But Sevilla president Jose Castro is adamant that the Europa League winners won’t sell the defender for less than their asking price, reported to stand at £24.5m.
“It’s true that there is interest from a number of clubs, above all Liverpool, in him, but we haven’t had proper conversations about selling him,” Castro told ABC.
“We haven’t reached an agreement, but talks haven’t broken down. We’ll wait and see what happens.
“If Liverpool are interested in the player and pay the right amount, he will be sold.
“Signing any player from this club has a price and we will decide that price.
“If Alberto Moreno has to stay at the club he will stay but if a club pays the amount we think is big enough for him to leave, he will leave. But there is no pressure.”
Moreno, who scored three goals in 29 La Liga games this season, is understood to have a £25m release clause in his Sevilla contract.
