Pedro has handed Liverpool a boost in their reported pursuit of the midfielder by admitting that he is unsure if he will stay at Barcelona beyond the summer.

The 26-year-old Spaniard netted 16 goals and made eight assists in 37 La Liga appearances for Barca last season but has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou in recent weeks.

I’d rather have played more, especially in big games, where I featured less

Anfield has been touted as a possible destination for the attacking midfielder – and he admits that he is keen to play more first-team football.

“I don’t know [if I’ll stay],” Pedro told AS.

“I’m happy at the club, but I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’d rather have played more, especially in big games, where I featured less.

“Overall, I ended up happy because in the games where I played, I was able to help the team a lot. We’ll see what happens next year.

“It’s not easy to get into the Barcelona team. The coach decided to use other players and I respect his opinion. I don’t hold any grudges.”
