Liverpool transfers: Real Madrid won’t rule out Luis Suarez bid
Liverpool transfers: Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez refuses to rule out a summer bid for Luis Suárez
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has refused to rule out a summer bid for Luis Suarez.
The 27-year-old PFA player of the year has been linked with a big-money move to the newly-crowned Champions League winners in recent weeks, despite the player’s own insistence that he is happy at Anfield.
Suarez? There are many good players, we will keep improving the squad
And Madrid chief Perez opted not to take the opportunity to rule out a possible bid for the Uruguay international this summer.
“Luis Suarez? There are many good players, we will keep improving the squad,” Perez told Cadena Cope.
“I like all good players, especially those of Real Madrid, but I like them all.”
Suarez was one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season as his 31 goals in 34 games helped Liverpool challenge for the title.
Speaking earlier this month, the forward suggested that he is planning to stay at Liverpool after the Reds booked their place in next season’s Champions League.
“I signed the contract because I love it here and I’m so happy here. If you’re not happy here you don’t sign any contract,” Suarez said.
“Liverpool’s team for me is one of the best in the world because nobody here in the dressing room thinks I am better than another and the people here inside Melwood work very well.”
