Huw Jenkins insists Swansea City have not received any offers for their captain Ashley Williams amid reported interest from Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool.

The Wales international has been a mainstay of Swansea’s defence since their return to the top flight and the centre-half helped the Welsh outfit win the Capital One Cup last season.

The 27-year-old’s form for the Swans has prompted speculation linking the defender with a swoop to a top-seven side, including the Gunners and Liverpool, where his former manager Brendan Rodgers is in charge.

However, Jenkins is adamant that Swansea have not received any calls from other clubs about their skipper.

“While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I have not had one call from anybody about him,” Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post.

“There have been all sorts of stories in the press about what is happening with Ash but I have never heard anything from anyone.”

Last month, Williams was tight-lipped on speculation specifically linking the Wales international with a move to Liverpool.

“As far as I know. I don’t know anything about it, I just read it in the papers like everyone else,” Williams told the London Evening Standard.

“I play my football for Swansea City and now I’m just going away and looking forward to a holiday.

“I’ve said before, I’ll take it as a compliment, it means you’re doing your job well. I’ve done that this time, I haven’t looked too far into it.

“The season’s been such that since the cup final we’ve had so much work to do that I haven’t really thought about it.

“If somebody comes in and the club want to do that you have to sit down with the chairman and talk about it.”
