Gary McAllister states his prediction for Liverpool v Everton
The former Liverpool midfielder believes Jurgen Klopp's side have the advantage ahead of their derby clash against Everton on Saturday

Gary McAllister believes Liverpool are favourites to win the Merseyside derby ahead of the visit of Everton at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off.
The Reds have won their last three Premier League games on home turf thanks to victories over top-four rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur before a 2-1 win against Burnley last time out.
Everton, meanwhile, have been on their own excellent run of form in recent months thanks to Romelu Lukaku’s prolific goal-scoring record in the Premier League so far this season.
Liverpool were 1-0 winners against the Toffees at Goodison Park back in December thanks to Sadio Mane’s extra-time winner in their final Premier League game before Christmas Day.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about the imminent derby clash between Liverpool and Everton, former Reds midfielder McAllister said:
“I would say is the advantage is very much in Liverpool’s favour after the events of this week.
“There’s the injury to Seamus Coleman – and we wish him well – Morgan Schneiderlin, we believe, is struggling, there’s James McCarthy’s hamstring…
“At the same time, Liverpool are flying Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino back in a private jet, so Liverpool are in better shape going into this.”
Liverpool are sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table and four points ahead of bitter rivals Manchester United in search of a Champions League spot.
Everton, on the other hand, are in seventh place and six points adrift of Liverpool in fourth spot.
