Phil Thompson predicts Liverpool v Man United
Phil Thompson looks ahead to Liverpool's clash with Manchester United at Anfield on Saturday afternoon

Phil Thompson is backing Liverpool to beat Manchester United in the Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s men head into the game looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle United before the international break.
The Reds have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League so far this season and they currently find themselves in seventh place in the table, seven points behind leaders Manchester City.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have been in superb form so far this season, with Jose Mourinho’s men having won six of their opening seven games to leave them in second place in the table and level on points with Pep Guardiola’s early pace-setters.
And former Liverpool star Thompson is fully expecting to see the Reds claim all three points against Mourinho’s side, despite Manchester United clearly being in better form heading into the game.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Thompson said: “I’m very confident – it’s what we [Liverpool] do. Liverpool turn up in the big games.
“It’s going to be an absolute battle but if you look at a lot of our players, they raise their game.
“Dare I say it, but I think there’s a good chance of a Liverpool clean sheet. I fancy us as it’s here at Anfield and I think it’ll be a Liverpool victory.”
Liverpool are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they finished fourth in the table last term to secure their spot in the Champions League.
The Reds, however, are yet to claim their first win in the group stage of the Champions League, having drawn with Sevilla and Spartak Moscow.
