Martin Keown looks ahead to Liverpool's home clash with Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday
Martin Keown is backing Manchester United to claim a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game in fine form and looking to continue their strong start to the new campaign under Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, Manchester United have won six of their opening seven Premier League games to leave them second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Mourinho is aiming to become the first manager to lead Manchester United to the title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final triumph back in the 2012-13 campaign.
Liverpool, meanwhile, head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United before the international break.
However, former Arsenal star Keown says that he is fully expecting to see the Red Devils claim all three points with a 1-0 victory on Saturday lunchtime.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Keown said: “I can see Manchester United winning this 1-0.
“These are two titanic teams with great histories but United have the momentum in this rivalry right now.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League last season under Mourinho but the Portuguese coach led the Red Devils to Europa League and League Cup glory in his first campaign in charge at the club.
Liverpool, meanwhile, ended up fourth as they secured Champions League qualification.
