Juan Mata looks ahead to Manchester United's crunch clash with Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Saturday
Juan Mata is confident that Manchester United will have what it takes to beat Liverpool in Saturday’s crunch Premier League clash at Anfield.
The Red Devils head into the game after having made a brilliant start to the new Premier League season, winning six of their seven opening games to leave them second in the table.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have been struggling to find consistent form in the top flight in recent weeks and have only won three of their seven games to leave Jurgen Klopp’s men in seventh place.
Klopp’s side will be hoping to spark a turnaround in form by beating their bitter local rivals at Anfield this weekend.
However, Manchester United midfielder Mata is confident that the Red Devils will be able to get a positive result against Klopp’s men.
Writing in his personal blog, Mata said: “We have to talk about our next Premier League game at Anfield.
“This is one of the big games of the season without a doubt.
“There’s no need to say what it means for us and for our fans, and I hope that we can play a great game and bring the three points back to Manchester.
“We will try to extend our good run of results since the season started.”
Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time this season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign at the club in 2013.
The Red Devils finished sixth but won both the Europa League and League Cup last season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will also be hoping to challenge for the title this term after their fourth-placed finish last season.
