Lucas Piazón is determined to prove his worth to Chelsea by impressing on his loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem this season.
The Brazilian 19-year-old has begun life in the Netherlands in impressive fashion, scoring three goals in seven Dutch Eredivisie appearances this season.
Piazón, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from São Paulo in 2011, was sent out on loan to Vitesse back in August following Jose Mourinho’s return to the west London club.
And the forward is keen to show his best form this season with a view to establishing himself in the Premier League in campaigns to come.
“The most important thing for me was to find somewhere to play a lot of games,” Piazon told the Daily Mail.
“My first hope was to stay in England and get some experience in the Premier League but Chelsea spoke to me and I came out here to see the club.
“I liked the club and the city and the training ground. There are a lot of players from Chelsea and we have a good connection. We all want a future at Chelsea but it depends on us
“We are young and on loan and we have to do something special with our season to get back and stay at the club.
“We know if we don’t have a good season we will be back out on loan again.”
Piazón, whose preferred position is out wide on the left of midfield, spent the second half of last season on loan to Spanish side Málaga, where he made 14 appearances and notched up two assists.
