Luis Suarez is a quiet and humble guy, insists Brendan Rodgers
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists that Luis Suárez is a "quiet and humble guy" off the pitch
Brendan Rodgers has described Luis Suarez as a “quiet and humble guy” and praised the Liverpool striker for his stunning form this season.
The Uruguay international has managed to steer clear of controversy this term and currently tops the Premier League scoring charts with 28 goals to his name.
People don’t see he’s a real quiet, humble guy off the field
The 27-year-old has also made 11 assists for his team-mates this season to help Rodgers’ men mount a surprise title challenge.
And Rodgers is delighted that the focus has been on Suarez’s talent this season rather than seeing him make the headlines for the wrong reasons.
“I think it’s been nice for people to see the other side of Luis this season,” Rodgers said.
“People don’t see he’s a real quiet, humble guy off the field who becomes a gladiator when he crosses the white line.
“This year, he has been a model of brilliance. On the pitch it’s never been questioned and if anything he has improved on that level.
“He’s up for every game. He’s a real strong pillar of our team. He’s really dominant, that’s why I had no hesitancy at the time making him skipper.”
