Roberto Mancini felt his Manchester City side could have scored “five or six” goals after watching the Citizens edge to victory over West Ham.

Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure scored either side of half-time to help fire City to a narrow win over the Hammers at the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentina striker managed to get on the end of Nasri’s cross after a slick City move, and Toure cemented their advantage with a curling shot in the 82nd minute.

Joe Hart picked up a late injury but continued playing, and the England international’s mobility appeared to be hampered as his error allowed Andy Carroll to score a late consolation.

“I’m happy for this performance,” Mancini told BBC Sport. “I’m unhappy for the goals we missed as we could have scored more goals but this has been our problem this season.

“I’m also happy we remembered Marc-Vivien Foe, who was a great player for Manchester City.

“West Ham is a good team and have had a good season but today we deserved to score four, five or six goals.”

The win leaves City in second place in the Premier League table and 13 points behind newly-crowned champions Manchester United.
