Man City 6 Tottenham 0: Citizens midfielder Samir Nasri admits he felt sorry for France team-mate and Spurs man Hugo Lloris
Samir Nasri admitted he felt sorry for his France team-mate and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after Manchester City were emphatic 6-0 winners at The Etihad.
Jesus Navas broke the deadlock inside 14 seconds against the best defence in the Premier League before Sandro put the ball into his own net and Sergio Aguero scored a 40th-minute strike.
The Argentina international bagged his 10th goal of the season five minutes after half-time before Alvaro Negredo and Navas polished off the victory.
“I felt a little bit for him [Lloris] but it’s game,” Nasri told Sky Sports.
“Even if he is my [France] team-mate, he was my rival today.”
The 26-year-old midfielder also expressed his delight at seeing Manuel Pellegrini’s men extend their 100 per cent record at Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this term.
“It was really good,” Nasri added. “We showed against a good squad that we all always respond at home.
“It was a great result, 6-0, you don’t see that often and we’ve maintained our good form at home.
“For me, all the goals were really nice. It’s difficult to pick one of them. We’re just happy with the performance and the goals that we scored.
“We may have scored six goals but we had a clean sheet as well.”
Meanwhile, Aguero admitted he was thrilled to score his ninth and tenth Premier League goals of the season.
“I’m really happy. I hope to continue the same way.”
