Jack Wilshere has told his Arsenal team-mates that they will have to be at their best when they take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

The north London side head into the game looking to continue their recent good form and keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table.

Pep Guardiola’s men have not yet lost a game all season in the Premier League and look as if they will be a forced to be reckoned with in the title race this season.

Manchester City are currently top of the table and nine points ahead of Arsenal after 10 games of the new campaign.

However, Wilshere feels confident that the Gunners will be able to test the Premier League leaders this weekend at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking to BT Sport after Arsenal’s goalless draw with Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday night, Wilshere said: “We didn’t concede (against Red Star Belgrade) and we know that City like to score goals.

“I think we have to be better when we go to City. They’re a good team as we’ve seen this year.

“But we’ll be ready for it. We’ve got confidence in each other and ourselves and hopefully we’ll get something out of the game.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

The north London side finished fifth in the Premier League but won the FA Cup last season under Arsene Wenger for the third time in four years, beating Chelsea in the final.
