Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Man City v Arsenal
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Manchester City to beat Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon

Mark Lawrenson believes Manchester City will beat Arsenal at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon irrespective of Arsene Wenger’s approach to the Premier League clash.
The Citizens have barely put a foot wrong in the Premier League title race so far this term after Manchester City notched up nine victories and one stalemate in their opening 10 top-flight games.
Manchester City went behind for the first time this season on Tuesday night when Napoli edged ahead of the Premier League side before the Eastlands outfit came roaring back with a 4-2 victory over Napoli.
The two-time Premier League champions were 5-0 winners against top-four rivals Liverpool, while Manchester City edged to a 1-0 victory over defending champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month.
Arsenal, meanwhile, ended a four-game winless run on the road with a 5-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park in October.
The Gunners are sitting nine points adrift in the Premier League table but level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea as Arsene Wenger’s men look to return to the top four.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson is backing Manchester City to ease to victory over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
“Arsene Wenger has always gone to the top teams and said ‘right, we will play football’,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“I can’t see Arsenal going there and saying ‘let’s attack them’ because if they do that then the gates will open.
“However, Wenger did go to City a few seasons ago with a plan – and they won 2-0. But I think, plan or no plan, City will win.”
Arsenal lost 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield back in August.
