Man City transfers: Edin Dzeko coy on Citizens future
Man City transfers: Edin Dzeko refuses to clarify his Citizens future amid talk of a potential move to Borussia Dortmund
Edin Dzeko has refused to clarify his long-term future at Manchester City amid reports of a potential switch to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Despite being one of City’s top goal scorers this season, the Bosnia-Herzegovina striker has failed to hold down a regular starting spot in Roberto Mancini’s side.
Dortmund are set to lose Mario Götze to rivals Bayern Munich at the end of the season, with Robert Lewandowski also being linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions.
But Dzeko, who is hoping to play against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final on Saturday, remained tight-lipped on whether he will be at City next season.
When asked about if he could quit the club, he said: “We will see. Everything is open.
“Everyone is hoping, everyone wants to play. I don’t know. I don’t think about that but I think that’s not important. It’s important to win it. It means a lot to the club, to the fans, to us players, to everyone.
“That’s my job to score goals, if I come on after 60 minutes or if I start.”
Dzeko added he is focused on helping City win the FA Cup on Saturday and not about scoring the winner in the showpiece against the Latics.
“I think it is important just to win it. I’m not sure about scoring the winner but I am dreaming of playing and winning the title,” he added.
