Man City transfers: Edinson Cavani ‘is wanted by English champions’
Man City transfers: The Citizens "want" to sign Edinson Cavani, according to Napoli assistant manager Angelo Gregucci

Manchester City are in the hunt to sign Napoli forward Edinson Cavani, according to the Serie A club’s assistant manager Angelo Gregucci.
Cavani has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most prolific front-men in recent years and has already netted 16 league goals for Napoli this season.
The Uruguayan has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in recent transfer windows – and Gregucci says that the Premier League outfit are still keen to sign the highly-rated 25-year-old.
But the Napoli assistant coach insists Cavani would be “happy” to stay with the Italian side should a move to one of Europe’s top sides fail to materialise.
“I don’t know if the club will lay siege to Napoli for Cavani, but every club with a player of the highest level will know they’ll be courted by bigger clubs,” he told Radio CRC.
“Mancini decides the transfer targets along with the new directors. If you ask the clubs who can afford Cavani, for example Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, then I think they’d want Cavani just as Manchester City want him.
“However, what the player wants is the predominant factor in negotiations and it seems to me that Cavani is happy at Napoli.”
