Sergio Aguero admits Manchester City face a “huge” game in the Premier League title race at Liverpool next week.

The Argentina international, who is set to miss this weekend’s clash against Southampton but should be fit to face the Reds at Anfield, is one of the survivors from Roberto Mancini’s side that won the Premier League crown in 2012.

Liverpool were a good side, too, and the game at Anfield is huge next week

The 25-year-old, who has scored 16 goals in 17 top-flight games this season, acknowledged that title rivals Chelsea and Liverpool have been the Citizens’s toughest opponents in the Premier League this season.

“What happened there does [help] but it’s not just that game,” Aguero told Four Four Two.

“The more you play, the more experienced you become. You must learn from your mistakes and not repeat them.

“Obviouisly, no one expects to be level on points going into the last game, but we know we have the mentality to repeat 2012.

“Chelsea and Liverpool have been the best teams that we’ve faced this season. Chelsea, both home and away, were tough.

“Liverpool were a good side, too, and the game at Anfield is huge next week.”

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are four points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played two games more than the Citizens.
