Paul Scholes reacts to Man United’s 2-1 loss to Sevilla in Champions League
The Manchester United legend slams the Red Devils' performance in a 2-1 loss to Sevilla on Tuesday night

Paul Scholes slammed Manchester United’s performance in a 2-1 loss to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils were looking to make home advantage count after a disappointing goalless draw with Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash at Old Trafford last month.
Manchester United warmed up for the crunch European clash following a 2-1 victory over Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The 20-time English champions struggled to match Sevilla at Old Trafford as the Spanish side registered 21 shots on David De Gea’s goal.
Sevilla manager Vincenzo Montella brought on Wissam Ben Yedder in the second half and the substitute hit the back of the net within two minutes of his introduction.
Yedder doubled the visitors’ lead in the 78th minute to leave Manchester United requiring three goals to secure their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku managed to pull one goal back but the Red Devils went on to lose 2-1 on aggregate.
Former England international Scholes didn’t hold back in his assessment of Manchester United’s surprise Champions League exit.
“It’s very difficult watching that and it was difficult watching the first game,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“There was no desire, no energy, no speed about the team. I can’t explain it.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Champions League since 2008 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge at Old Trafford.
