Jose Mourinho highlighted the importance of Manchester United’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

The Red Devils will look to bounce back from the disappointment of their Champions League exit at the hands of La Liga giants Sevilla.

Manchester United suffered a 2-1 loss to Sevilla at Old Trafford after substitute Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice after his introduction.

The 20-time English champions exited the competition despite being handed what most considered a good draw against Sevilla.

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but too far behind Manchester City to have a shot at title glory.

The Red Devils can win their third major trophy under Mourinho if Manchester United win the FA Cup this term.

Brighton are in 11th place in the Premier League table and are unbeaten in five of their last six Premier League games.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of the FA Cup last-eight clash, Mourinho underlined the importance of their game against Brighton.

“I beat Liverpool, I beat Chelsea, I lose against Sevilla and now is their [the critics] moment to be happy,” Mourinho said. “But for me, every match is different and every match is important.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term but managed to appease Red Devils supporters with success in the Europa League and the League Cup.
