Both Chelsea FC and Manchester United are keen on signing Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN FC is reporting that both of the Premier League clubs have made enquiries about the possibility of signing the 27-year-old this summer as the clock ticks down on the transfer window.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for further reinforcements at Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his third season at the club.
The same story says that both Chelsea FC and Manchester United have enquired about signing Thiago this summer, but it is also claimed that Bayern Munich would like to keep hold of him.
Thiago scored two goals and made two assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern last season.
Chelsea FC have only signed one player so far this summer after having tied up a deal to bring Jorginho to Stamford Bridge from Napoli.
Manchester United are aiming to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season after the Red Devils finished second and without a trophy last term.
Chelsea FC, meanwhile, are preparing for their first season under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
