Ian Wright believes Alexis Sanchez will bring something different to the Manchester United team.

The Red Devils signed the Chile international in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan complete a move to Arsenal.

Manchester United handed Sanchez the number seven shirt following his much-anticipated move to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho wasted no time handing the South American his debut in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

Sanchez made two assists in the 4-0 win over Yeovil Town to help his new club secure their place in the fifth round.

The 29-year-old scored 24 goals in 38 games in the Premier League last term, more than Manchester United’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Sanchez opened his account for Manchester United from the penalty spot in a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Sanchez will be able to dig results out for Manchester United.

“He will bring Man United something else,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“If Man United aren’t able to open the door, as long as he is on the pitch, he will go bam. That’s it. Man United are back in the groove again.

“Man United have signed a fantastic player.”

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but 12 points adrift of current leaders Manchester City.

The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.

Sanchez won two FA Cup titles at Arsenal but the forward couldn’t inspire the Gunners to title glory.
