David De Gea is hoping Manchester United can win the Champions League and the FA Cup in the 2017-18 season.

The Spanish shot stopper has been one of Jose Mourinho’s most consistent players in the current campaign to once again underline his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but 15 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City in what looks like being a one-sided title race.

The Red Devils suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Championship side Bristol City in the League Cup quarter-finals last month to heap pressure on Jose Mourinho.

The 20-time English champions eased to a 2-0 win over Derby County at Old Trafford on Friday night after goals from Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United will take on La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League last 16 next month as the Red Devils look to win the competition for the first time since 2008.

The club’s number one goalkeeper De Gea is hoping that Manchester United can get their hands on two trophies in the 2017-18 season.

“My aims for 2018? Health is the most important thing for everyone and we want to win a trophy. We will try to play really well and fight for everything including the Champions League and the FA Cup,” De Gea told Manchester United’s website.

Manchester United won the League Cup an the Europa League in their first full season under Mourinho.
