Rio Ferdinand claims David De Gea is worth 17 points a season to Man United
The Man United legend believes David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that David De Gea is worth 17 points a season to Manchester United.
The Red Devils goalkeeper has been in sparkling form throughout the 2017-18 season despite being linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in last summer’s transfer window.
The three-time Manchester United player of the year remained at Old Trafford after los Blancos didn’t act upon their interest in the Spain international.
De Gea has further underlined his status as the Premier League’s best goalkeeper with a string of world-class performances throughout the current campaign.
However, the Spain international was powerless to prevent Manchester United from slipping to a disappointing 2-1 loss to Sevilla in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
De Gea looked particularly disgruntled with the result following the final whistle after the Spanish goalkeeper was caught on camera leaving the pitch on a difficult night for Manchester United.
Former Red Devils legend Ferdinand believes De Gea is saving Manchester United a lot of points each season with his goalkeeping heroics.
“He’s the best,” Ferdinand told BT Sport. “In all departments he’s top level.
“He’s so quick and so sharp. His decision making is exquisite. He must be worth 14-17 points a season this guy to Manchester United.”
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but 16 points adrift of Manchester City in the title race.
