Jose Mourinho told new Man United signing can add something different
The former Hull City and Fulham right-back has praised Manchester United’s new midfield signing after an impressive debut performance

Liam Rosenior has said he was captivated by Brazilian midfielder Fred’s debut for Manchester United during their 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Fred joined United for £53.1m from Shakhtar Donetsk in June and was part of the 23-man Brazil squad that went to the World Cup in Russia.
He linked up well with Paul Pogba during last Friday’s opening day win to show early signs of a potential partnership between the pair.
Former Fulham defender Rosenior rated Fred’s debut performance in Manchester United’s narrow win.
Rosenior told Sky Sports: “He has really impressed me.
“He can pass through the eye of the needle. He can play between lines.
“He is really offensive.”
Man United have struggled to find the foil for Pogba since his then-world record transfer from Juventus where he played next to Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal.
Pogba has often struggled to perform for United at the level he did in Turin, with many commenters noting a lack of genuine quality accompanying him in midfield.
Fred’s precise passing and movement could free up Pogba to replicate some of the performances he showed during France’s World Cup winning campaign this summer.
However, Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, but Fred’s performance could perhaps reassure fans that the future of United’s midfield is more secure.
Rosenior’s assessment of Fred’s debut will come as a welcome relief to fans who are rightly concerned about the potential loss of Pogba.
