Man United staff don’t rate Harry Maguire as club’s best defender – report
Man United coaches don't rate the world's most expensive defender Harry Maguire as the best centre-half in their squad, according to a report

Manchester United coaches don’t rate Harry Maguire as the club’s best defender, according to a report in England.
The Independent, as quoted by the Metro, has revealed that the Red Devils may have just made Maguire the most expensive defender in the world but his new coaches still rate another player in the squad above the new arrival.
The same article states that the Manchester United coaching staff believe Victor Lindelof is still the best defender at Old Trafford in spite of the £80m addition of Maguire from Leicester City earlier this week.
According to the same story, Lindelof is considered to be the “superior” defender following the Sweden international’s impressive 2018-19 Premier League campaign.
Lindelof moved to Manchester United from Portuguese side Benfica in the 2017 summer transfer window, when Jose Mourinho was still in charge of the 20-time English champions.
The Swedish centre-half showed great progress over the past 12 months as he emerged from a difficult 2018-19 season with credit unlike most of his team-mates.
Manchester United have also signed Swansea City winger Daniel James and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window so far.
The Red Devils will start the new Premier League campaign with a home clash against Europa League winners Chelsea FC on Sunday.
