Martin Keown: What I really think about Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s situation at Man United
The Arsenal legend believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan isn't hapy with life at Manchester United
Martin Keown believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan isn’t enjoying his environment at Manchester United.
The Red Devils midfielder is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford following some subdued performances in Jose Mourinho’s team.
Mkhitaryan was omitted from the Red Devils team following his underwhelming display in a 1-0 loss to defending champions Chelsea back in October.
The Armenian playmaker made his first start in two months when Manchester United drew 2-2 with Burnley at Old Trafford on Boxing Day before the Red Devils star lasted 65 minutes of their goalless stalemate with Southampton.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a potential return to Borussia Dortmund or a switch to Serie A giants Inter Milan in the January transfer window to end his 18-month spell at Old Trafford.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Mkhitaryan isn’t happy with life at Manchester United.
“Mkhitaryan is not enjoying this new environment the manager’s created,” Keown told BT Sport.
“Plucking him out of the team then putting him back in again. He’s not able to cope and he’s been a great player [in the past].”
Mkhitaryan was part of the Manchester United team that won the Europa League and the League Cup last term.
The Red Devils signed three players in the summer transfer window in an attempt to improve their squad following a sixth-place finish last term.
Manchester United are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2013.
