David May raves about ‘exceptional’ Man United star
The Manchester United legend has been impressed with Jesse Lingard's exceptional performances for the Red Devils this term

David May has lavished praise on Jesse Lingard for the Manchester United midfielder’s impressive form this season.
The England international has enjoyed his best season at Old Trafford to date under Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho.
Lingard has managed to nail down a regular spot in the Manchester United team despite the influx of attacking talent at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and has made four assists in 26 appearances in the Premier League this term.
The versatile midfielder has netted five times in the FA Cup and the League Cup to help Manchester United reach the semi-finals of both competitions.
Lingard has managed to transfer his exceptional form to the international stage after the Manchester United star netted the winner in a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in an international friendly last week.
Former Manchester United defender May admitted that he has been very impressed with Lingard’s performances throughout the current campaign.
“Lingard has been exceptional this season and scored so many important goals,” May told 888sport. “He’s in his mid-twenties now and people don’t seem to realise that.
“Some of his goal celebrations can be annoying but he came through the youth ranks doing what he does and as long as he does well for the club he’ll continue to be one of the bright things.”
The Red Devils will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month.
Mourinho led Manchester United to Europa League and League Cup glory in the 2016-17 season.
The Manchester outfit signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
