Ashley Young: New Man United signing working well with Romelu Lukaku
The Manchester United defender believes Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku are forging a good partnership in the Red Devils team
Ashley Young believes Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku are starting to form a fruitful partnership in the Manchester United team.
The Red Devils signed the Chile international in a swap deal with Arsenal in the January transfer window after Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved to The Emirates.
Sanchez has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top forwards over the past three and a half seasons at Arsenal.
The South American has scored one goal and has made two assists in five appearances in all competitions since his January move to Manchester United.
The 29-year-old has started to form a fruitful partnership with summer signing Lukaku despite Jose Mourinho struggling to settle on a position for Sanchez in the team.
Manchester United defender Young is encouraged by the early signings of a partnership forming between Lukaku and Sanchez.
“You can see the combinations between him and Alexis Sanchez,” Young told Manchester United’s website.
“Alexis comes inside and Rom’s seen him and picked him up as well and they’re picking each other out and they have worked well together so far.”
Sanchez scored 24 goals in 38 games in the Premier League in his final full season at Arsenal.
The Manchester United striker could line up against La Liga side Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils will welcome defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
