Steven Gerrard: What I love about Man United striker Marcus Rashford
The Liverpool legend delivers his glowing verdict on Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford

Steven Gerrard has opened up about why the Liverpool legend is such a big fan of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.
The England international was handed his first starting spot since a 1-0 win against promoted outfit Brighton and Hove Albion in mid-November.
The Manchester United forward made his mark on his return to Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up for Tuesday night’s 2-1 win against Russian side CSKA Moscow.
Rashford scored the Red Devils’ second goal to overturn a 1-0 deficit to secure three points with a clinical finish to take his tally to eight goals in all competitions.
The 20-year-old started the season as first-choice under Mourinho but the impressive performances of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have given the Manchester United boss a headache ahead of this weekend’s derby clash at Old Trafford.
The England forward has previously scored the winner against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium to prove his derby pedigree despite his relative lack of experience.
Former Liverpool captain Gerrard explained why he is such a big fan of Rashford following his impressive performance against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.
“I love how direct he is,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“When he smells blood he goes right at defenders with that pace. If you’re a defender in that position, he’s one player you do not want to come up against, especially when he gets you in a wide area. In a one-v-one he can absolutely destroy you.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term but won the Europa League and the League Cup under Mourinho.
