Jose Mourinho: What I really like about new Man United signing Fred
The Manchester United manager heaps praise on summer signing Fred

Jose Mourinho has credited Fred with already having a positive influence on the Manchester United team.
The Red Devils made the Brazil international their first summer signing after Manchester United signed Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 20-time English champions signed Fred in the summer despite defending Premier League champions Manchester City previously being linked with the playmaker.
Fred produced an impressive performance in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend even though the Brazilian failed to get on the score sheet in his debut.
The 25-year-old will be tasked with improving Mourinho’s options in the middle of the park following Michael Carrick’s retirement at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website about the addition of Fred to the team, Mourinho said:
“People can already feel his positive influence on the team and on the style of football that the team wants to play.
“When we brought him here, we knew he could influence the dynamic because he could attract other people to follow him in the way he thinks football and the way he likes to play football.
“So we are really happy. And a part of that is his character, he’s a good guy to have around, a funny guy and a guy who always has a smile on his face.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
The Red Devils did secure their best finish since the Ferguson era last term under Mourinho but ended up a staggering 19 points adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Red Devils also signed FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant this summer.
