Neville raves about Pogba: Man United have Europe’s best midfielder
The Man United legend believes Paul Pogba is the best midfielder in Europe when at his best
Phil Neville has claimed that Manchester United record signing Paul Pogba is the “best midfielder in Europe”.
The France international scored twice in Manchester United’s 3-1 win against Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Pogba has enjoyed a new lease of life at Old Trafford over the past week or so following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as interim manager.
The World Cup winner didn’t start Jose Mourinho’s last three games in charge after falling out of favour under the Portuguese coach.
Pogba has struggled to find a level of consistency since his return to Manchester United in a club record £89m deal from Juventus in 2016.
Former Manchester United defender Neville lavished praise on Pogba following his man of the match performance in their 3-1 win over Huddersfield on Boxing Day.
“Paul Pogba on his day is the best midfielder in Europe,” Neville told Match of the Day.
The 25-year-old has scored five goals and has made five assists in 16 games in the Premier League this season.
Only Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku have scored more Premier League goals than Pogba in the current campaign.
Manchester United will take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday afternoon.
Pogba and his Red Devils team-mate will take on Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League round of 16 clash in February.
