Gary Neville sends special Man United message to Luke Shaw
The Man United legend is hoping that Luke Shaw has turned a corner in his Old Trafford career

Gary Neville is hoping that Luke Shaw’s man of the match performance on Friday night can be the start of something special for the Manchester United defender.
Jose Mourinho handed the England international a starting spot in the Manchester United team for the visit of Leicester City at Old Trafford on Friday night.
Shaw justified his inclusion with Manchester United’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Leicester to pip stand-in captain Paul Pogba to the man of the match award.
The 23-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot since Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal at the Old Trafford outfit in May 2016.
Shaw was linked with a potential summer move amid reported interest from their Premier League rivals Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the former Southampton defender has signalled his intent to hold off on signing a new contract with Manchester United until Shaw believes that he merits a new deal.
The England international has 12 months left to run on his current deal to raise questions about his long-term future at the 20-time English champions.
Former Manchester United defender Neville sent a message to Shaw ahead of their Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion next Sunday.
“From a personal point of view, having been scrutinised about his fitness and other things, you hope he can take this opportunity because Manchester United do not have a plethora of left-backs,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“I know Ashley Young is playing there but Shaw must be looking at that and thinking the space is still there to jump into. You hope that it’s the start of something special for him.”
