Jose Mourinho’s side moved five points clear of Liverpool FC thanks to a 2-1 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s men at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Portuguese head coach has chopped and changed his starting XI throughout the campaign, alternating between Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Former Manchester United defender Neville believes the Red Devils need to find a system to include their best attacking players.
“Man United need to build some momentum,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.
“They need to try and fit Sanchez, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku and Mata into a team and try to make them into a team rather than a group of individuals.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term but are on course to make significant improvement.
The Red Devils haven’t won the top-flight crown since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down as manager in 2013.
