Carragher: Why I’m disappointed Pogba won’t feature in Man United v Man City

Jamie Carragher has admitted that he is disappointed Paul Pogba won’t feature in Manchester United’s derby clash against Manchester City at Old Trafford next Sunday.
The Red Devils will look to reduce Manchester City’s lead to five points at the top of the table to give the Red Devils some hope of winning a first Premier League title since 2013.
Manchester United produced one of the best team performances of the season in a 3-1 win against title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
Pogba played a role in Antonio Valencia’s opening goal before the France international produced a strong run before he teed up Jesse Lingard to make it 3-1 in north London.
However, the 25-year-old’s afternoon ended on a sour note after Pogba received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
The Manchester United club record signing will miss next weekend’s visit of Manchester City in what is a hammer blow to the Red Devils’ hopes of winning the derby.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher is disappointed that he won’t get to see Pogba come up against Manchester City’s two architects Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva.
“I’m disappointed he’s not playing on Sunday because I would have loved to have seen how Jose would have used him, considering what he would have been up against in De Bruyne and Silva,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“Jose always sets up for the opposition, so he would be well aware of Silva and De Bruyne, and how he will have to stop them, so it’s a big miss.”
Manchester United are in second place and eight points behind current leaders Manchester City.
