Jamie Carragher makes aggressive prediction for Man United v Man City
The Liverpool FC legend is expecting an exciting derby clash between Man United and Man City at Old Trafford on Sunday

Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United should adopt an “aggressive” approach in Manchester United’s derby clash against Manchester City at Old Trafford next Sunday.
The Red Devils were 3-1 winners against title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening thanks to goals from Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard in north London.
Manchester United were dealt a blow in the second half of their top-four clash after France international Paul Pogba was sent off in the 74th minute at the Emirates Stadium, meaning he’ll miss the game this weekend.
The 20-time English champions have bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Premier League title holders Chelsea with four successive top-flight victories ahead of next weekend’s derby.
Manchester United eased to victories over Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester City.
The Citizens are eight points ahead of the second-placed Manchester United with 23 games to play in the title race.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher believes Jose Mourinho’s men should adopt an aggressive approach to their derby clash against Premier League leaders Manchester City.
“It may have to be a little old-fashioned, but to be very aggressive, using set-pieces and at times going direct and on the counter-attack, but overall, be very, very aggressive,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“Make it an old-fashioned derby. Yes, you can’t go round kicking people, but make it as difficult as possible for City, and make them feel that contact right throughout the game.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League last term.
However, Mourinho led the Red Devils side to the Europa League and the League Cup in his first season at Old Trafford.
