Rio Ferdinand reacts to Marcus Rashford’s goal in Man United v Man City
The Manchester United legend celebrates Marcus Rashford's superb equaliser in the derby at Old Trafford

Rio Ferdinand couldn’t contain his excitement at Marcus Rashford’s clinical equaliser in Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Red Devils were on the back foot throughout most of the first half as Manchester City dominated possession in search of a 14th successive Premier League victory.
And experienced Spain international David Silva broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute with a close-range finish after Nicolas Otamendi managed to put Romelu Lukaku under pressure from a corner.
Manchester United were level before the half-time break when Rashford managed to get on the end of Otamendi’s attempted header and fire a finish past the Manchester City goalkeeper.
The England international showed great awareness to be alive to the chance despite touching the ball a mere 19 times in the first half.
Rashford’s clinical finish was his second derby goal after the 21-year-old scored the winner at The Etihad in the 2015-16 season.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand took to Twitter to heap praise on Rashford for his equaliser.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: “Get in there…… RASHFORDDDDDD!!!! @ManUtd back in it 💪🏽🔥”
Rashford’s goal wasn’t sufficient to secure a point or trigger a comeback win following Otamendi’s winner.
Lukaku’s poor clearance from a Manchester City free-kick deflected of his own player and into the path of Otamendi, who fired past a helpless David De Gea.
