Rio Ferdinand: I can’t wait to see 28-year-old in Man United shirt for the first time
Rio Ferdinand admits he cannot wait to see Alexis Sanchez line up for Manchester United this season

Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he cannot wait to see Alexis Sanchez line up for Manchester United.
The Chile international, who was at Carrington for his medical on Sunday, is set to become Manchester United’s first signing of the January transfer window in a deal which sees Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Arsenal.
Sanchez is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking players and he has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Gunners since his move to The Emirates from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has admitted that he is excited about the prospect of Sanchez lining up for Manchester United.
Speaking to BT Sport Premier League Tonight, Ferdinand said: “I’m delighted, I can’t wait to see him in that red shirt.
“I hope he’s going to really turn the fortunes of Manchester United into a positive in terms of trying to get some silverware.”
Manchester United secured a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon to keep them in second place in the Premier League table.
However, Manchester City’s victory over Newcastle United later in the day meant that the Citizens are still 12 points ahead of Jose Mourinho’s men.
Manchester United will now switch their focus back towards FA Cup affairs and their trip to Yeovil Town in the fourth round on Friday night.
The Red Devils finished sixth but won both the Europa League and League Cup last season.
