Manchester United are aiming to beat Chelsea to the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, say reports

Manchester United are aiming to deal another transfer the blow to Chelsea by beating the Blues to the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Red Devils are preparing a move to sign the 22-year-old midfielder from Monaco as Jose Mourinho looks to further bolster his squad.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to sign Bakayoko for the last few weeks but a move is yet to materialise for the Frenchman.
The Blues were also thought to be leading the race to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton this summer but it was Manchester United who secured the signing of the striker over the weekend.
Now, it is being claimed that the Red Devils are ready to make a swoop for Bakayoko as Mourinho searches for a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick in hi team.
The same report states that Chelsea were ready to sell Nemanja Matic to the Red Devils, but that Manchester United have now turned their attentions towards signing Blues target Bakayoko.
Manchester United are currently in Los Angeles to begin their preparations for the new Premier League season.
