Matteo Darmian: Man United star is the best in the world, he’s incredible
Man United defender Matteo Darmian explains why he thinks that David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world

Matteo Darmian has insisted that David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world after his sparkling form for Manchester United.
The Spanish shot-stopper has developed into one of the world’s top goalkeepers since his arrival at Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge in 2011.
After a shaky start to life in the Premier League, De Gea has made the number one spot his own and he is widely regarded as one of the world’s top talents between the posts.
And Manchester United defender Darmian, who has played alongside the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, feels that De Gea is clearly the world’s top stopper on current form.
Darmian told Manchester United’s website: “I know David very well and I think, at this moment, he is the best goalkeeper in the world.
“He is very important for us and I think that save at Stoke (from Jese Rodriguez) was incredible.
“I think Gianluigi is the best goalkeeper of all time. He’s also a good guy. So I am lucky to play with two goalkeepers like this.
“Of course, it’s close (between the two). I don’t know. I think David is the best goalkeeper in the world and Gianluigi is the best goalkeeper of all time.
“I think they are similar because they are very strong and they make very good saves. They also have good personalities.”
Both De Gea and Darmian will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
The Red Devils have made a fine start to the new Premier League season this term, after having won six of their opening seven games to leave them level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Manchester United have not won the title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2013.
