Gary Neville: Man United star is best in the world, he’s outstanding
Gary Neville heaps praise on David De Gea after another fine display from the Manchester United goalkeeper

Gary Neville believes that Manchester United star David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world on current form.
The Spanish shot-stopper has earned a reputation as one of the finest goalkeepers in the Premier League since his arrival at Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.
De Gea initially struggled in his first few months at Manchester United but has since stepped his game up and is widely regarded as one of the top shot-stoppers around.
The goalkeeper’s rise in stature has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid having come close to signing the Spain international in the summer transfer window of 2015 before the move fell through at the last minute.
De Gea was once again in top form for Manchester United on Saturday as he helped his side keep a clean sheet in the goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
He produced a fine save to deny Joel Matip in the first half on Merseyside as Jose Mourinho’s men settled for a point against the Reds.
And former Manchester United star Neville was left gushing with praise for De Gea after the final whistle on Saturday.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: “Is there anyone better now in the world than David de Gea? I’m not sure now.
“Thibaut Courtois I love to pieces, but this guy now is doing things that are just absolutely stunning.
“Brilliant, brilliant goalkeeper. The save there and the one at Stoke a few weeks ago were absolutely outstanding.
“We saw a stat last night that said only three per cent of shots that go on Manchester United’s goal go in the net. That is ridiculously low.”
Manchester United take on Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
