Man United ‘confident’ 27-year-old will sign new contract – report
Man United are confident of tying David De Gea down to a new contract, say reports

Manchester United are confident that David De Gea will sign a new contract with the Red Devils in the coming weeks, according to reports in the British media.
BBC Sport is reporting that the Red Devils are hopeful of getting the Spain international to commit to a new long-term contract as they look to secure the future of the talented goalkeeper.
De Gea has earned a reputation as one of European football’s top performing goalkeepers since his move to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid back in the summer of 2011.
His current contract is due to expire next year, but Manchester United do have the option to extend it by a further season.
Real Madrid have constantly been linked with a move to sign De Gea in recent years and the Spanish side came close to landing the shot-stopper back in 2015.
Now, the same report is stating that De Gea is poised to sign a new contract and commit his future to Manchester United.
The Red Devils were 2-1 winners over Leicester City in their Premier League opener at the King Power Stadium on Friday night.
Manchester United are aiming to try and win the Premier League for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
